Shenandoah River Outfitters Inc is a 3rd generation family business that began in 1970. Canoe, kayak, raft and tube rentals are our core business that runs from April 1 to Nov 1 each year. The log cabin rentals were the perfect thing to add to extend us into a year-round business. The cabins provide a great place for our paddlers to stay. We began with 1, then have built 3 sets of 3 over the last 22 years so have 10 river log cabins for vacation rentals.
Each of our river cabins sleeps 6. We are finding that the '3 cabins sets' are being rented for family/friends renuions, school/business retreats and even small weddings.
Whatever the Season, there is much to do and enjoy around our area. The River Cabins offer an escape to the country with each set of cabins having it's own flavor.
Our newest cabin—the River Lure is on the 7 acres along with the Angler, Drifter and Paddler cabins. The River Lure is a larger cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen. And a hot tub!
The Angler, Drifter and Paddler cabins are on 7 acres 'way out' in the country -17 miles from Luray, 7 miles from the Outfitters. A place to see the stars, sit by the river in the shade, play football in the meadow, no phones, little traffic, listen to the quiet. These larger cabins that sleep 6, with a loft, have a propane fireplace in the main bedroom and Dish TV in the living area. The 3 cabins each have a private hot tub.
The Wood Duck, Blue Heron and Osprey cabins sit on a wooded 2 acres, closer to the river. 13 miles from Luray and 3 miles from the Outfitters. For the simpler retreat-- no phone but now a hot tub and TV. Just river and fishing and picnics and bonfires.
The Hook, Line and Sinker cabins sit on 3 open acres with the perfect view of the river. Closest to Luray-6 miles and 4 miles from the Outfitters. These cabins, being closer to Luray, offer easy access to restaurants, Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, etc.
These larger cabins that sleep 6, with a loft, have a propane fireplace in the main bedroom and Direct TV in the living area.
The 3 cabins each have a private hot tub on the cabin deck. Just imagine sitting on the deck in the Hot Tub and watching the snow fall or the mist rise off the River!
Our Page county, Luray, Virginia area offers many attractions and activities for your time here--from Shenandoah River activities, to hiking, horseback riding, golfing, Luray Caverns, Luray Zoo, Shenandoah National Park, zip lines & rope courses, wineries, brewery, snow skiing, indoor water park, etc., add in interesting antique shops, good family restaurants, movie and weekend entertainment just to make your stay here even better.
